V for the environment
Hotel V loves Amsterdam....and the planet!
In 2010 Hotel V has been awarded a Golden Green Key certificate and is the first independent hotel in Amsterdam with a Golden Green Key!!!
Here is what steps we are taking in our moves towards ecological responsibility.
We have already changed many of the products in our bar and breakfast to eco-friendly, biological, or fair trade products, such as:
• Organic Farm A-round butter
• Organic Bebo light vegan margarine
• Zonatura rice cakes
• Fair Trade, slave-free Tony Chocoloney chocolate bars
• Locally sourced, free-range ham
• Fair Trade organic Golden Coffeebox coffee
• Mr Jones biological tea bags
• EKO biological cane sugar
• Biological Earth water
• Organic Bishkek Vodka
• Organic Rutte Vodka
• Organic Neubourg Gulpener Pilsener Beer
We have also:
• Switched to environmentally friendly cleaning products
• Changed all duvets to 100% environmentally sustainable YUMEKO duvets
• Switched to 100% Green Choice green gas and electricity
• Installed water savers in all showers and sink faucets
• Divide our paper, glass and organic waste and recycle accordingly
• Use microfiber cleaning cloths, which last longer
• Use recycled, chemical-free paper and reduced our paper use at checkin by 50%
• Have switched to energy-saving lightbulbs where possible
We also plan to:
• Switch more of our lights to energy-saving bulbs by changing entire light fixtures
• Use recycled toilet paper
How you can help:
• Please consider reusing your towels if they are lightly used.
• Always remember to turn the lights off in your room when you leave.
• Enjoy our biological, fair-trade and organic products in the bar!
• When you visit Amsterdam please come by train when possible and rent our V bikes to explore our lovely city!
